You could have gone through the set-up process to get Siri working, but maybe she has suddenly stopped responding to you or maybe the swirl appears and starts spinning after a "Hey Siri" command from you, but it disappears quickly. From setting configurations, to VPNS, and software glitches, there are a few potential reasons that Siri isn't working. Follow this guide to learn the most common troubleshooting fixes to get Siri working again.

Common Reasons Siri Doesn't Work

Temporary software glitches, incorrect settings, VPNs, outdated software, a bad internet connection, and malfunctioning hardware are all common reasons that Siri doesn't work.

Restart your iPhone.

A simple restart can help clear any temporary glitches. The steps to restart your iPhone are different according to your phone model:
- For iPhones with Face ID (X, 11, and newer): Press and hold the volume down and side buttons at the same time until the slider appears. Then drag the slider over, wait 30 seconds as your iPhone turns off, then press the same buttons again to power it back on.
- For iPhones with a Home button (6, 7, 8, and 2nd/3rd Gen of SE): Press and hold the side button until the slider appears. Then drag the slider over, wait 30 seconds as your iPhone turns off, then press the same side button again to power it back on.

Make sure Siri is enabled.

Check your internet connection.
