This wikiHow teaches you how to download and install Spotify on a computer, phone, or tablet. Spotify is a free streaming service you can use to access an enormous library of music, podcasts, and playlists. Using a Computer

Go to http://www.spotify.com/download in a web browser. This link should immediately start downloading Spotify. If not, it should bring up the "Save As" or "Save" window on your computer.
If you see an option to Save , then click Save . This downloads the latest Spotify installer to your computer.

Double-click the installer. It's the file called SpotifySetup.exe or Install Spotify in the Downloads folder. The installer will download additional files and then install Spotify on your computer.
- If you're using a Mac, click Open on the pop-up window to start the install.
If the app doesn't open automatically, click the Spotify link in the Start menu (Windows) or in the Applications folder (macOS).

Click SIGN UP FREE to create an account. This brings up a sign-up form.
- If you already have an account, click LOG IN , then follow the on-screen instructions to sign in.

Fill out the form and click JOIN SPOTIFY . You'll have to provide your name, email address, a password, your date of birth and a gender.
- If you have a Facebook account and want to use that to log into Spotify, click JOIN WITH FACEBOOK at the top of the form instead, then follow the on-screen instructions to link your accounts.
- Once your account is created, you'll have the opportunity to get a free trial version of Spotify Premium, which is Spotify's ad-free plan. To learn more about signing up for a subscription, see How to Get a Free Trial of Spotify Premium.
Now that you're up and running, click the Browse link in the left column to check out some recommended playlists, or search for your favorite music using the search bar at the top-center part of the screen.

Using an Android

You'll usually find it on the home screen or in the app drawer.
A list of matching search results will appear.
It's the option with a green circle containing three black curved lines.
Spotify will download and install.
If you're still in the Play Store, tap the OPEN button to launch the app now. You can also open the app by tapping the green Spotify icon on the home screen or in the app drawer.

Tap SIGN UP FREE to create a new account.
- If you already have a Spotify account, click LOG IN instead, then follow the on-screen instructions to access your account. If your account is connected to your Facebook login, select CONTINUE WITH FACEBOOK , and then follow the on-screen instructions.
You'll use this login information to sign into your new Spotify account.
You'll see a message that says "Your account is ready."

Now that you're up and running, you can search for music and check out recommendations by tapping the Search icon at the bottom-center part of the screen.

It's at the bottom-right corner.
A list of search results will appear.

Tap GET . It's near the top of the page. This downloads and installs the app.
- You may have to enter a password, sign in with your Apple ID, or use a biometric (such as your fingerprint) to start the installation.
If you're still in the Play Store, tap the OPEN button to launch the app now. You can also open the app by tapping the green Spotify icon on the home screen or in the app drawer.

Tap SIGN UP FREE to create a new account.
- If you already have a Spotify account, click LOG IN instead, then follow the on-screen instructions to access your account. If your account is connected to your Facebook login, select CONTINUE WITH FACEBOOK , and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Passwords should be at least 8 characters long.
To select your birthdate, scroll down each of the three wheels until your birthdate appears on the middle line.
The name you enter here will appear on your profile when you launch Spotify.
