Story Title: Delilah and the Boogie Man
Act 1:
Setting:
Delilah’s bedroom at bedtime on a stormy night.
Setting Description:
The room is dark. The toys on the floor make scary shadows. The closet is partly open. Rain is pouring while lightning flashes and thunder crashes.
What Happens?
Delilah’s father makes her go to bed. She is scared of the dark, and the stormy night makes everything worse. After some arguing with her dad, Delilah finally gets to bed. Her dad tucks her in, turns off the light, and closes the bedroom door most of the way. Delilah looks around the room and starts to get scared.
Act 2:
Setting:
Delilah’s bedroom. (Same as above.)
Setting Description:

What Happens?
When Delilah is in her bed, she pulls her covers up over her eyes and looks around the room. Lightning flashes scare her even more, and then she notices the closet is partly open. The Boogie Man climbs out of the closet, and Delilah is very scared. Then the Boogie Man asks her if she wants to play. Delilah asks the Boogie Man if he wants to eat her, and he says that he doesn’t eat kids. He’s just lonely and wants to play. Delilah says that she will play with him.
Climax and Resolution:
Setting:
Delilah’s closet and the Boogie Man’s world.
Setting Description:
The Boogie Man’s world is bright and colorful. It has a giant playground.
What Happens?
The Boogie Man shows Delilah around his world. He tells her about his giant playground, and they play hide and seek, tag, and other children’s games. Delilah finally gets tired, and the Boogie Man takes her back to her bedroom, where she finally goes to sleep.
