wikiRicardo’s initial suggestion on the topic, which can be found here
, is a very good one:
Such a suggestion is arguably technologically feasible, though possibly difficult and time-exhaustive for wikiHow’s engineers, and would serve as an excellent redirection for the many teenage editors that have mistaken us for a social network. Of course, the opposition has claimed that this would make us a social network. Because many of us will not accept that wikiHow is a social network to these people, I have come up with a new solution that will shut the chatterboxes out.1. People that use talk pages for any purpose rationally considered outside the wikiHow mission will be given a stern {{chat}} reminder. We pretty much already do this. 2. No colors or fonts may be changed nor may borders be created on user or talk pages. 3. UIBs and other miscellaneous templates will be scrapped. 4. The Forum Games category will be removed, and the General Chat thread count will be severely cut back. Those who formerly used the forums for gaming or chatting will have to do so somewhere else. 5. No idle chatting will be allowed on the main IRC channel. We pretty much already follow this rule. 6. People who break or bend the above five rules will be reminded that they are here to work through use of stern talk page message. It sounds as though that platform might interest those of you who never want wikiHow to be mistaken for a social network again; however, I do not support my own idea. Of course, if this is what it takes to get back on track with the mission, then I will begrudgingly allow its admittance as policy, but it had better be a last resort! I prefer wikiRicardo’s solution, but it seems some of us can’t move on from the “it is impossible that anyone could mistake us for a social network” stage and might prefer a more extreme solution. Here’s your ammunition. Discuss.

You appear to be spending a lot of time over-thinking non-issues. We don’t need a solution, because patrolling a bit of talk page chatter isn’t actually a problem. If people spend too much time talking and don’t do anything productive at all, they can be blocked after a couple of warnings. But generally, if people are contributing in a useful manner while talking, it’s really not an issue at all. Can we stop wasting time on this and do useful stuff like editing articles again, perhaps?
As long as it isn’t a problem, then we don’t need the measures I’ve suggested. Fair enough.

I think I agree with Caidoz
