I cannot add a step in my article. It does not let me type in there, it just comes blankly. I can write in Method, Tips, Warnings, Introduction and all, but I cannot add the step. Help me!

It is happening in each of those I have, Google Chrome, Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

Hey @Aphroditee - sorry, I’m a little confused… You said it was working for you, here ? Nothing has changed in the code since then, so if it was working in private browser but isn’t in your regular browsers, I think your best bet is to try clearing your cache . Since it was working when you tested in private/incognito mode, chances are your existing browser is holding onto old code from before the bug fix.

If that doesn’t help, our next step is probably to have you go through the testing process described in that earlier thread to make screencasts of what you’re seeing, logged in and out, in private browser and not (after your cache is cleared). I’d be happy to pass those 4 examples on to our engineers for review, especially if something has changed since last time you tested. Just let me know!

The whole thing appears fine. In the article, in front of the bold “1”, it is just blank. Last time I tried to create it, it said in a very fady writing “Enter text here”. This time it didn’t. I have to use Advanced Editing.

I cleared my cache. It’s still not working.

Thanks for trying that - definitely perplexing. How come it was working when you posted in the other thread? Is this a different computer? Since none of us at the wikiHaus can reproduce this bug anymore using the same browsers (we could before the code changes, but not since), we really are relying on the folks who see the issue to provide screencasts of what’s happening to them. If you’re not familiar with that process, you can find a couple of pretty easy options for that here: https://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Screencast If you could grab a screencast of this process for any/all of the browsers you can, that would be great: 1) Open up a private browser and show the Article Creator and what happens logged out. 2) Then close out the entire browser and start new, fresh private browser session. 3) Log in this time and show what happens in Article Creator again. For each test, you can also use http://www.whatsmybrowser.org to share your exact browser info. And just make sure you’re in private browser for the testing. That’ll hopefully help us get to the bottom of which particular scenarios/setups this might be affecting, and would be super helpful in figuring out next steps for our engineers. Without this kind of detailed info, I’m afraid they just don’t have anything to go on, because we can no longer reproduce the issue on any of our system, since the code fixes.

Hallo! I see that you have changed the format? It is working! Thanks for the new code.

No new changes on our side but I’m glad if you’re seeing the previous fixes now. That’s great- thanks for letting me know!

It’s a little queer how I get to write it finely. I have to click the Advanced Editing first, then change back to Guided Editing. It looks very similar to the Advanced one then, but at least it lets me type!

Jordan released some more updates for this pesky bug today, and we’ve had several folks who were having trouble initially report that it’s working for them now… so hopefully case closed here! Try again now in a private browser or with a cleared cache, to make sure you’re getting the newest code, and hopefully it’ll work. I’ll close this report for easier tracking but shoot me a talk page message if you have any more issues - chances are they’d be unrelated to this one, so we can start fresh if you’re still having any trouble:slight_smile:
