Hi everyone! I have a suggestion I think would be beneficial to many users.
Creating a new profile badge for Staff. This would provide editors with a sure-fire way of knowing that another contributor is a legitimate staff member. At the moment, you just sort of read their profile which may or may not say they’re staff, and unless you go and check the user rights log, or the staff page (and sort through a big list) it can be difficult to know.
Plus, anyone can write that they’re staff in their bio, so this isn’t really very secure, especially if you’re planning to email them about a potentially sensitive topic about wikiHow.
I feel like a secure way of identifying a staff team member would make reporting issues, asking questions, and making suggestions much easier.
It would also make RC patrol easier, as staff sometimes make radical changes to pages as experiments, and unless you go sifting through their bio (which, as mentioned, isn’t really reliable!), they can get rolled back pretty quickly in RC patrol.
One click into their profile, see the staff badge, Patrolled.

Keep on mind we do have the wikiHow:Staff - wikiHow
page, which keeps the complete list of all members of the staff. But i do agree that when you see their User page, it would be better to visually see if or not they are at a a glance.

Yes, I have been thinking that this should be a thing for quite a while now. It would definitely make things a lot easier.

I also support this idea! Especially with the frequency of staff onboarding/removals and how some former staff members still have a mention of their role in their user bio. It would be great to see a Staff profile badge connected to the “staff” user rights group, I think that’ll make it it easier to know who’s who at a glance.

Another idea could be a “New User” badge, and after a few weeks of them helping out and stuff, it gets removed? I don’t know, just a thought.

Maybe we could have a badge for Q and A editors as well.

Yeah that’s another thing I was thinking, it would probably attract more people to become Q&A editors as well, as many people aren’t sure that role even exists
