I was looking over all my articles, and when I went to this article: http://www.wikihow.com/Do-wikiHow-Nails
I found Born-2BMe’s photos in my article! I can’t find who did this edit, so I can’t roll it back. Why did this happen, and can someone please fix this quickly, before many people see it?
Oh no! Found the same thing on this article of mine: http://www.wikihow.com/Do-Fourth-of-July-Nails
Why did this happen?
I had the same issue. Your photos were ending up on my article! I resolved this by re uploading the images. This time, i changed the name of the image and it worked.
I will check if I still have the photos, but I just started this mainly to find out how it happened.
You guys are using the exact same filename when uploading images. So if someone were to upload an image of a school bus for a “How to Ride a School Bus” article with the filename “Image:Bus”, and then someone else later on uploaded a busboy image for a “How to Be a Busboy” article with the filename, “Image:Bus”, both articles would then have the busboy image - because it was the latest version. What needs to be done, is all of the images from LLN needs to be reverted back to HER latest versions (within the image pages). http://www.wikihow.com/Image:Photo-(8)-1.jpg
This will then show the correct images from her. Born2B Me will then have to re-upload images using different file names. Or… to avoid this again with another person, both of you can re-upload all the images using different filenames. I highly suggest to avoid camera generic filenames, such as “Photo (8)”, like in the issue. Make up your own like “wikiHow Nail Art 1” and “4 of July Nails 1”.
When you try to upload an image that has the same name as an existing image on wikiHow, you *should* get a dialog asking you to change the name of yours. Are you getting that?
I used to, but now I am not. Why?
It sounds like a bug. I would really like to fix this but I’ve tried to recreate this bug and can’t. Would you be able to help out by recording a video of you uploading an image that has the same name as an existing one? http://www.wikihow.com/Record-a-Screencast-with-Screencast-O-Matic
