If I add too many links to a comment box and click “Post”, it does not post, but it does not give an error message either. It used to give errors saying you added too many links and stuff like that. But now it doesn’t. This can be frustrating for new users when their messages don’t get posted for some reason.

Pretty sure that has something to do with discourse and trust level and stuff.

This is on the wikiHow site. Not on Discourse.

Oh. Hmm… that’s weird.

This was likely built in as an anti-spam measure and could’ve been lost in an update. I don’t think we need to worry about a fix right now, because the majority of people adding lots of links are likely spammers. Those that are good faith wikiHowians will figure out other ways to post!

So… I guess we wait until the storm clouds come in?

Yep, let’s wait and see if it becomes an issue. I don’t mind not letting spammers know why they can’t post their links:wink:

Maybe everything should just be a shadow ban. So basically, instead of showing a block notice, editors are given the impression that their content is posted when in fact it isn’t.

That could get confusing, I think it’s fine to leave as-is for now.
