I’m looking for examples of spammers to putting links into discussion pages of articles that don’t exist. If you see something like this can you post the URL here. Example URLs will help me build a tool to rid us of this spam.

I’ve seen this as a link added as the first item on a discussion page but when I look farther, there is no article associated with the discussion page. I’ll watch for examples as I patrol.

I am assuming that my own decision to send these to oblivion (delete on sight) wouldn’t benifit your search, so I will stop this practise and send links to you in the future. I have blocked a number of users for creating numerous (and onerous, IMHO) discussionpages, as well as anonymous users creating multiple userpages where no usercreation log entries show an account being created.
Yeah… I contributed to that, but it is strange that we have so many all of sudden. Could it be one person?

I blocked the IP it came from, but it’s also edited from a different IP that has spawned 7 commercial user pages in the past week. All named similarly… a name then three numbers. Jack: see CheckUser report on 173.234.57.131 and 173.234.57.99

is an unattached discussionpage, although not spam, per se…

http://www.wikihow.com/Discussion:Which-Airlines-Have-a-Direct-Singapore-Melbourne-Flight
is an orphan discussionpage, which makes me wonder, how did the second person even arrive at the page to post his comments? Still, not exactly a spam discussion, but close.

Here are two contributors who seem to specialize in discussionpage creations and posts. http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Contributions/Dheerajbanu
http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Contributions/Kanta15
They could probably be blocked, although I see very little purpose in it since their contributions don’t amount to much, but if you are looking for examples, they may be worth watching, and examining the ISPs may determine if they are using sockpuppet accounts to create these pages.

The previous discussionpage is only one created by another apparent specialist in that area, http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Contributions/Mitali-panday
