My article have a meaningful conversation was put on in August-ish, it is almost half-way up the list. Does it take a long time to do? Or is it it isn’t very common to do?

It either becomes an FA or it doesn’t. The fact that it gets an FAC means it is a candidate, not that it will GET an FA. It’s a compliment for sure, but not a sure thing.

The best thing to do is to contact people on the FA Team, like @Flickety
and @GoldenZebra
. They are probably aware of the article, but sometimes the people who make FA decisions are too busy to comment on every FAC.
Only two people decide the Featured Articles as far as I know, and that would be Krystle and Flickety. It would be an insanely hard task to review every FAC, especially because most of them have so much content
Goldenzebra only adds the FA tags I think.
