Hi everyone, I have noticed that there are a lot of articles like ‘how to cheat’ and ‘how to fake that you are sick’ and stuff like that. Please, please stop writing these articles as they are bad. Wiki how is a place for positive stuff, not this kind of bad stuff! If you see one, please inform the writer! Let’s make Wikihow a better place, Yesgirl

Hi Yesgirl. Welcome to the forums. wikiHow wants to teach everyone how to do anything so some articles are included that don’t sit well with everyone. I think articles on things that are not good, like faking being ill or cheating can be useful to people writting fiction or acting or people dealing with other people doing these things to them. I don’t think everyone who reads bad articles goes and does bad things straight after reading it. You’ve read those articles, and you’re good - right? Articles have warnings telling people what can happen if the follow the steps. We have way more positive articles than “negative” ones. I hope my response helps you and happy wikiHow-ing.

I agree with HumanBeing. Besides, if someone wants to do something that is not good, such as cheating or faking sick, they will do it whether there is an article on it or not.

I agree! But we should at least do something like make a tip like ‘Don’t do this for real’ or something like that.

I remember a discussion post about this a while back. Here is the thread, and here is Anna’s reply, which is a good summary of why we keep articles like that.

Most of those articles do have warnings about the consequences of getting caught.

Let’s just not do this stuff for real - it’s bad, KK?

I personally agree with HumanBeing. The person reading the article won’t necessarily do it.

@Zodi - thanks for the link to the older thread on this topic. Anna was spot on with her response. I don’t think it hurts to chew the fat on this topic every once in a while - linking back to Anna’s previous wise words was a good move. I hope Yesgirl find the link useful too.
