I just watched frozen 2 and it was awesome!! Which do you prefer? 2013 movie or 2019 movie?

Let me think. I think I liked the 2019 movie better. The 2013 movie can sometimes send people crying, can’t it?

I liked the 2013 movie, it talks about love and how it can make a big difference :).

Disclaimer- I haven’t watched the 2019 movie so I really don’t have an opinion here…

Oh @FlowerPower555 you should watch it! It’s really good.

I haven’t seen Frozen 2 yet but I think the first movie is always better than the sequel. I feel sequel are often unnecessary and a way to make money.

Hmmm maybe…

Frozen 2 all the way

=) I agree @Delilahlulu ! Whoever didn’t watch it should!

I wasn’t a fan of the first one, but I actually enjoyed the second.

I think the second movie is winning XD

I like Frozen 2 better, but you gotta admit that the first one does have a pretty good moral.

I liked both a lot. As a writer, I think the 2nd was more well-written.

The first movie didn’t plan solid character arcs for the main characters, I thought. “Love conquers fear” doesn’t work. Elsa’s anxiety was born partly out of deep love for her sister; that’s why she’s so terrified of hurting her. A different moral, such as learning to trust yourself or regulate emotions, might have been more logical. Anna’s big flaw in the movie is her impulsivity, and she doesn’t learn to think through her decisions by the end. (Of course, they did do a massive rewrite partway through the process, so I can’t blame them.) While it’s a nice story, it doesn’t have that logical thematic beauty.

The second movie felt more cohesive to me. Elsa learns to let go of feelings of obligation in order to be truer to who she is and what she wants. Anna learns to let go a little instead of clinging too tightly. I also liked how Elsa’s anxiety issues weren’t cured completely, because it takes time to heal from childhood trauma; I think Elsa showed signs of severe complex PTSD in the first movie and that stuff is hard to overcome. This movie takes the same characters and finds ways to move them in the next logical direction. Thus, I think they took something good and created an even better sequel.

Plus the unique storyline about past wrongs and reparations! Stories like that don’t get told often and I’m glad they went there.

…But perhaps essays like this are what happens after too much college. I may think too hard. In any case, my thesis is “both were great and as a writer I think the second movie goes in a great direction.”

@MissLunaRose that is a very smart observation! The way you put it, I really feel like the 2nd one is better:slight_smile:

@ Delilahlulu  Thanks! I tend to think very hard about the things I like. Which is both movies! I really hope they make a Frozen 3.
