I am a member of Cleanup project. Why there is so many articles in cleanup category? I just found that there is some articles which were tagged in 2009. Is it good that one article was put under attention and noone take want to correct it?
Hi! Articles are being cleaned up all the time, particularly new articles that come through New Article Boost. wikiHow, however, has 100,000 articles now and it’s impossible to keep track of them all. Since this is a volunteer project, people choose what they want to work on and what they don’t want to work on. There’s no way to make people cleanup certain articles, since it’s all a matter of choice. It also may depend on the topics of the articles, since each individual has their own topic preferences and some topics just get edited more than others depending on the interests and expertise of the community. Another thing you should be aware of is that most projects on wikiHow aren’t very active, compared to places like Wikipedia. If you want people to do a certain task, the best thing to do is post a message in the Collaboration Corner.

People will come to your project if it looks helpful. What I do, is make a UIB for those who like them and an invitation. Also, they come and go. Like Nicole said, put it in Collaboration Corner and you could announce it in the Village Pump…not like you did here, sort of accusing/attacking. That isn’t a criticism, just some advice.

Thank you for advice. And Clean up project is not mine. I am just a member. Its founder is Black Diasy. I will try this at Collaboration Corner. I am not accusing anyone I just want to say that there was articles that were tagged before 2 years ago, but till they are not cleaned up.
I agree. I know that this is a volunteer site, and you choose to do what you wish, I just can’t believe that there is that many cleanup articles! Nonetheless, wikiHow is a great site.

Having so many articles, I could see where it’s tough to keep track of them all!
wikiHow is a doacracy. If the number of articles that need cleanup bother you, then fix them. Leading by example can be more effective than just stating an opinion in a forum. More info on what a doacracy is: CommunityWiki: Do Ocracy
You may want to check Black Daisy’s profile to see if she’s still an active contributor. If she doesn’t respond, then she may not be on wikiHow anymore and someone could take over the project. No one “owns” anything here on wikiHow, including projects, so the Cleanup Project doesn’t need to be “yours” in order to promote it in the Collaboration Corner.
