So here’s the problem, Last night I created one article “ http://www.wikihow.com/Become-a-Social-Media-Expert-to-Boost-Your-Business
” in the guided editor mode. Then after writing one half of that article I switched to the Advanced editing mode and I finished the other half of the article and Published it. And later on I wanted to edit the article so clicked on the ‘Edit the article’ and the Advanced editor showed up. I clicked on the Guided Editing mode so that I could edit my article from there. When I clicked on the Guided Editing, the page refreshed and oped up the same Advanced Editing mode. Is this problem only happening to me or is anyone experiencing this too? And yea, how do I go back to the Guided editing mode. #Thanks_in_Advance

Hello Akash
Thanks for taking the time to report a bug in the community forum! Im not sure whether this is a bug, and I don’t think it is. Just wanted to let you know that the advanced editor is forced upon you whenever you add subsections to an article. The article mentioned contains two subsections, hence, the advanced editor shows up. If the article does not contain any subsections, then you can switch to the guided editor. Personally, I find that the advanced editor suits my needs better, but you might feel otherwise, and that’s alright. Oh, and I fixed your article’s section headers to abide with the new rule of thumb. Regards, Abhishek

This issue isn’t a bug or glitch… the reason why the article cannot be turned back into guided editor is because of the sub-section codes… that’s all. You can add an {{inuse}} tag in the article, remove the sub-section headers, and continue editing the article in guided.
ok thanks to both of you guys. BTW I like the advanced editing mode but when it comes to adding images through that editor it’s just gives me pain in the … Anyways can you guys tell me how do I add images fast in the advanced editor (that goes for the videos too)
We do have a fix for both of these in advanced editor. If if have a better internet connection than my phone, I could give you this info. You’ll have to search the site for embedding a video on wikiHow. And the picture button is last button on the toolbar at top of the editor, you’ll have to do some work to changes the images from the small size to enlarged ones.
Here’s the one about adding videos via the Advanced Editor (just look for the subsection about Advanced Editor) http://www.wikihow.com/Embed-a-Video-on-wikiHow
Here’s the one about adding pictures with Advanced Editor http://www.wikihow.com/Put-a-Photo-in-a-wikiHow-Article
If you use the Advanced Editor, it’ll default to the smaller size on the right. Change the sizes to be any size between 350px and 550px, as well as changing the justification from on the right to the new placement of in the center. Before the image code it adds, you’ll need to add 2 < br > tags(remove the spaces) with nothing after the image code it adds. Do this for every image you upload. And make sure the image is at the very end. The image adder for Advanced Editor has a problem on a Windows Vista computer running IE9 and below. Try Firefox. It’s fine with IE10 and above and will allow you to add the image where your cursor is positioned when clicking the button.
Thank you so much @Byankno1
. That’s really appreciated .
Don’t forget to include the number one at the end of my username (it should have been typed as @Byankno1
)!
