These steps have several steps in them? What is your general opinion on how to deal with something like this? http://www.wikihow.com/Add-an-Fm-Transmitter-or-External-Speaker-to-Ge-Lights-and-Sounds-of-Christmas

Possibly bullet points or sub steps? Or just separate steps.

I see it a lot and have dealt with it different ways, I think, but curious as to what others thought.

I’d definitely break it up into bullet points, as it’ll make it a lot easier to read than it is now. Looks like an eye-sore right now…

Step one # Step two ## Step 2 section 1 ## Step 2 section 2 ### Set 2 section 2 subsection 1 # Step three I think that’s the format.

Really? I thought it was # Step one # Step two #* Step two, section one #* Step two, section two #** Step two, section two, subsection one # Step three Wait, that’s bulletpoints I was thinking of - depending on the situation, those could work too.

In most cases people use the bullet points for the simpler substeps. I think it definitely gives it a cleaner appearance, as the actual substeps just put a #. thingy, and it doesn’t stand out too well.

both of those work.

Either of those are good, but generally I prefer substeps to be bullet points (#*) instead of numbers (##) because the latter creates too many numbers - it gets a bit confusing. Maybe if our substep numbers had a different look than step numbers it would be better? But these cases are so uncommon that it’s not something really worth working on right now.
