I noticed that Picture Patrol has been inactive for a long while. Even though the listing on the Community Dashboard says that it was last done 2 days ago (as of this post), the logs say that it was actually used last over a month ago. I have seen users uploading user completed images on the recent changes page, so I’m just wondering if it is being buggy or if it has been turned off for some reason?

Good question! My guess is there’s a bug, a block in the queue - this has happened in the past when there was a problem with the service that checks the Picture Patrol images for potential copyright violations, before they go into the tool. I’ll ask the engineers to see if something like that is wrong again. Thanks!

Me too. I haven’t done Picture Patrol since I joined (month and a half ago)! (Exaggeration)

Yeah, no worries - there’s def a bug here but the devs are working on it!

This should start slowly but surely rolling again now! Behind the scenes, the tool checks 100 photos a night for copyright issues and discards those that are iffy in that regard, so it may be a slow trickle into the tool (only showing the non-copyvio ones out of each batch of 100) day by day until we’ve caught up with any backlog, but hopefully it’ll keep sailing now:slight_smile:
