i had posted a discussiom just a few days back telling about publishing a wiki newspaper. i found out there was already one called wiki herald thanks to @pinkstar

. I checked it out and was dumbstruck. I was thinking more of lyk ‘interesting’. According to me and your friend ricardo it wasnt much interesting. I dont mean to go ofence but i think we need to renovate it with more ideas thats makes it interesting lyk new sections , etc. So i am askin u guys to give more ideas for the cotents in wiki herald
If you don’t think the Herald is interesting, what would you suggest to help it out? What new sections would you like to see included? You wanted to publish your own wikiNewspaper, so what did you have in mind for that one? Keep in mind that the Herald is completely run by volunteers, so we’d also need to find someone willing to write those new sections.

… I would suggest utilizing good punctuation and spelling when posting. It makes you look as if you put some thought into your post and makes the reader pay more attention to what you have to say.

Let’s keep a couple of things in mind, though. People’s preferences of ‘interesting’ are completely different. You’ve listed the opinions of only two people, and not in much detail. You’ve said the Herald was ‘boring’, but you haven’t given us much information on what exactly makes it seem boring to you and your friend. You did, however, say you would like to see new sections. Sections like what? Any examples? And, I’m a bit confused…Did you start this thread to say your own ideas, or hear other people’s? Did you ask June about it beforehand? If you wanted to hear new opinions about the Herald, it might have been a good idea to ask June what she thought about creating a thread of suggestions. Don’t mean to be harsh, just wanted to throw all that out there.

As Confusionist points out, it’s hard to suggest ideas when we don’t know what it is that you find uninteresting.

I’d like to see outlines of each type of editing… NAB, Copyedit, Article Greenhouse, Patrolling… with interviews/commentary by people who do it regularly… what they like about it… what they don’t like… where they think the greatest need for help is… tips on how to do that particular chore efficiently… etc. I’ve been around a longish while… but I’ve never tried out some of the newer widgets… It’s just been more comfortable to stay with my old tried and true chores… but I’m curious… and I might find something new and fun to do on the site… if someone would just explain what it is they do and how they go about doing it? For example… (horrors!) I very rarely, if ever, go out to the community dashboard… So any and all of the activities listed out there would be good fodder for this type of article. I imagine newbies could benefit the most… but some oldies like me could benefit from an explanation/invitation type article as well.

May I ask what your ideas are? I’m just curious because of the harshness confusion of the initial message in addition to seeing that you have “many sections in mind”. It’s a contradiction when you’re sounding as if the current version of the Herald isn’t interesting or lacking stuff, but wanting other people’s opinions/ideas, and at the same time, we have yet to hear how you would remodel it.
As Confusions and I have pointed out, the word interesting means different things to different people. A definition or even a specification of what you think could be more interesting would be helpful here.

here are some of thd sections name i hav in mind to renovate d herald: radar, news blip, this mth in history, interviem (atleast two) , etc . Lets leave other ideas as surprise

Do you mean specific wikiHow news or worldwide news? I’m guessing that the wiki herald is specific to wikiHow but things like “this month in history” seems more like worldwide news.
