I remember several years ago before I joined wikiHow, New Article Patrollers crunched the NAB backlog.  Now, I think we need to crunch the Video backlog, the Answer Questions backlog, the Answer Requests backlog, the Topic Greenhouse, and more.  I figured this would be very productive and make wikiHow more stress-free:slight_smile:

I’m sure someone else way more knowledgeable will put in their two cents too, but from what I understood the questions aren’t a quick thing we need to do. Yes, it would be nice admittedly if we got it down to zero; we just gotta make sure those questions are being answered well!

I think someone was working on the video one (Chris?), so one down! Overall, nice call to action. I think wH is focusing more on immediate things like NAB and RC Patrol so that’s perhaps why there is a bit of a buildup of those needs.

Yes @Caeiia . I’m currently trying to clear up the queue in the Video Adder. So yes, one down! As for others, if we each do our part, we can crunch those numbers.

Kudos @Byanko1 for killing the Video Adder backlog!

Looks like the RC patrol backlog is also increasing.  I can model it with the expression b(t) = 10^t

We’re getting there, slowly but surely @UpsandDowns1234 ! But we’re not there yet. If you’d like to help, feel free to help me. I’d help right now, but we have thunderstorms here and there’s been talk about tornados. I was out of town for most of the morning, but got back now.

@Byankno1 Ooh, be careful…hope there won’t be anything bad happening where you are.

And @UpsandDowns1234 , I am working on being a Q&A Patroller. I just need to find time to do the test, hah. Thanks for reminding me about that; I used to be zealous about answering questions and was astonished to see how much I had done before. Now the only questions left seem to be ones I don’t know about, but I’ll see what I can do. If you’re not already, you could probably do some tech-related questions, since you seem knowledgeable :)

Squashing backlogs is always a good thing! Please remember quality>quantity though. Don’t rush through the backlogs just to get them to zero. The answer question thing I believe @Caeiia is right. @Anna can attest more to this though. It’s not something we need to overwork on. Better to have fleshed out and quality questions.

@Caeiia Good luck on your Q/A test. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about it.

I’ve gotten the cleanup backlog down to 100 something and falling with my mini mission! When I have some more time I plan to half that or more.

Yep, quality over quantity.  It would be good to crunch the backlog, but it is still important to guard quality.

How is the backlog coming along?

Yay!  Crunched the entire RCP backlog!  Woo!

@UpsandDowns1234 “I figured this would be very productive and make wikiHow more stress-free” – it doesn’t have to be stressful when you have a huge backlog.  Don’t worry about the backlogs. The beautiful thing about wikiHow: they’re not an emergency; they don’t cause an apocalypse if they’re too high.:slight_smile:Just relax and enjoy helping make a difference around the world.

There is now more baaaaacklog… Special:TopicTagging
