I’m a songwriter of songs that seem bad to me but good to others, so I’m gonna share the two songs I’ve got so far:
Songs
Please Take Me Back
Verse 1: Ropes of grief twining ‘round my heart.
Never knew what it’s like to be apart.
Now I’m reaping your feelings of pain.
Pre-chorus: I hurt you so I could be free,
but now when it’s just me,
I’m pretty sure I want things the same!
Chorus: Please take me back!
You’re all the good things I lack!
I am sorry!
Please believe me…
Verse 2: Now my soul’s tight and sore.
Not sure I like freedom anymore. (I am tired of this life I’ve lived!)
Could you forgive me?
Can we restart our story? (Would you be able to forgive?)
Chorus: Please take me back!
You’re all the good things I lack!
I am sorry!
Please believe me… (Please believe me!)
Bridge: Please take me back, forever!
I swear to never hurt you, ever!
I won’t just come for the ride,
I swear to never, ever leave your side!
Verse 3: Please come back.
My soul is now just black.
Take me high, take me low.
Only your love can restore my soul to full rainbow!
Chorus: Please take me back!
I hope I’m the only thing you lack.
I am trying to rid us of our sorrow.
I am trying to solve this by tomorrow.
Verse 4: But don’t forget…
I’ll always love you…
And I’ll regain your love…
If it’s the last thing I do…
Pre-chorus: One last thing I need to say,
Before the end of today.
That…
Ending: Please take me back.
We’re A Picture Perfect
Verse 1:
When we’re together, a picture-perfect couple.
We were the type of picture, that would be worth so much more.
Perfectly painted, framed forevermore
But was the paint just temporary?
Chorus:
Your words are brushing my heart.
Telling me to be a picture perfect work of art.
I’m your canvas, you’re the artist,
But did you paint me the way I wanted?
Verse 2:
Oh darn, disappointed you again
Shouldn’t gone as white, should’ve chosen red
The paintbrush spins again in my head (head)
Choosing what shade to be, losing what’s left of me.
Chorus:
Your words are brushing my heart.
Telling me to be a picture perfect work of art.
I’m your canvas, you’re the artist,
But did you paint me the way I wanted?
Bridge:
How many times I painted myself?
How many days of buying your words? (Your words brushed my heart)
What do you want me to be?
Pink, purple, green, orange, I don’t know!
Make up your mind, I’m sick of this disguise
I don’t want my picture-perfect life anymore.
Outro:
When we’re together, a picture-perfect couple
But this time, I’m stepping out the frame.
Numb
Verse 1:
Ice-cold eyes, exterior-wise,
As indifferent as a grain of sand.
Hollow replies, no spark, just lies,
Meaningless words just spilling out.
Chorus:
But do you know what is hiding within?
A tidal wave crash, a bottle of poisoned gin.
Beneath the cool, beneath the barrier of calm,
There’s the emotional equivalent of a hurricane.
But to you,
I’m just numb.
Verse 2:
I know that I’m still, I know that I’m cold.
I heard you when you said my soul was sold.
My brain’s gone dry and icy,
But you never could tell that, I see.
Chorus:
But do you know what is hiding within?
A sunken Titanic, a mad crowd’s din.
Beneath the cool, beneath the barrier of calm,
There’s the emotional equivalent of a hurricane.
But to you,
I’m just numb.
Bridge:
Cracks in the surface, a shadow in the light,
I’ve made everything hidden and just right.
But underneath it’s World War 3,
An inferno burning endlessly.
Outro:
But to you,
I’m just numb.
To you, I’m cold.
To you, I couldn’t care less.
I’m numb.
And PS, I have never been in a proper romantic relationship so this is just based on what I observed from my entertainment environment, and probably because I’m a Pisces with the capacity to feel the emotions I haven’t experienced directly.
Edit: Numb is finished - but this is just the first draft, i’ll probably change it soon. I was really tired at school and felt like I was getting really picked apart, so I wrote a poem that is really similar (the first three sentences of the song were the first lines of my poem). I lost the poem, and created a song based on it lol
