The first article I’ve ever written, “How to make a papier mache snowman” says that it’s based on the work of wikihow user, “TheCraftyAustin”, even though I’m the one who originally started it. It even says on my user page under “Articles started”. The only problem is that when you go on the article, and click on Co-authors, it says "Last edited by Purple Panda Girl on " " and based on work by wikihow user(s) TheCraftyAustin.
I am checking the edit history of the article and it is showing you as the author. Weird.

I see that you are the author of the article too. The other user just categorized it. If it says based on the work
of the wikiHow user, it means they edited it, not created it.
In “My Articles” it also lists the articles you have started. On mine it shows that I wrote a different article (similar but not the same as one I wrote) and it shows it was written by me.
