), please read it. So, my brother is going to court tomorrow and there is a chance he might go to jail. I am crying as I type this because I never wanted anything like this to happen to him. We helped him get a job at a frozen yogurt shop and he is taking an Alcohol and Drug Abuse class. If he does go to jail, he might stay there from 30 days up to 6 months. I really love him and I don’t want him to leave. Please help me cope with this, because I won’t be able to think straight for the entire day and tomorrow because I don’t know what will happen. My hands are shaking to much to type any more, so sorry for the short intro. -Livelifenails ,3

If he’s in jail, you know he’s safe and sober.
I’m no legal expert, but let me say that if he’s found guilty, he may not face jail time, if the judge sees that he’s been working to turn his life around. If he has a job and is taking classes, the judge might let him continue with that. However, I don’t know if the police chase will be the deciding factor or not. Keep us updated.

And technically, it’s the best place for him and everyone for this reason. Sorry that it may sound harsh, but I severely wish more people would go rehab it seek help to keep themselves and everyone around safe.

He is safe and can’t do anymore bad things from jail. Look at it this way: This is a “timeout” for adults. Or, at least, older people. I know this is hard for you, I’m here for you, and, if he’s deemed guilty, we’ll help you cope for the next bit.
However, this’ll hopefully teach him a lesson: Don’t do or even attempt something bad. June Days
That is the point. We signed him up for 100 hours of community service and he only did 7. The only reason he got a job was because my little sister saw a “Help Wanted” sign at a frozen yougurt shop. Thanks guys. I painted my nails for 45 minutes to keep my mind off of things. I came up with 10 different designs.
Again this is a tough approach but if he is guilty of drug and alcohol offences then if he goes to prison that should make him think " ok I don’t want to go back there I’m not going to do this again " I think it will be tough short term but in the long run it’s a good chance it will keep him on the right side of the law in future meaning he and you will have an easier ride. And as metsguy said, he won’t be in with serial killers or anything like that.

Thanks guys. My parents left today at 9:00 in the morning for the court date and I wrote my brother a letter for him to keep. Thanks again for all the support.

I’m ssssssoooooo sorry, I had the same thing happen to me, kind of. It was my sister, she was with the wrong kind of people.My mom made me get off the bus at the Sherrif’s Office and she made me go into a different room, I was so confused. When she shut the jail doorn , I asked her what that was about and she said she was in jail. If you need anything just ask me. I know you are really upset. If you can, keep on writing him letters. I will pray for you and your whole family.
