This could be a bug, but I am not sure. I have a problem get a numbering correctly in this article: http://www.wikihow.com/Show-Someone-That-You-Don’t-Need-Them After step #7 it starts with #1 again. I deleted a space a couple of times after the last sentence. Didn’t work. I don’t see anything wrong in Edit, why it starts with #1 step again. Please help., Thanks guys.

@Laura7491 What do you think of it now? I added a sub-step, and it seems to be solved.

Hi, @Danielbauwens … yeah, looks fine now. However this is definitely not right - having to add a sub-step to make the numeration work. This is real odd. On general principle editing should NOT be functioning like this. I did not intend to add any sub-step because if everything looked fine in Edit, and it did, it SHOULD be able to work. I could call it a bug but it’s up to admin. Thanks for your help.

@Laura7491 - it’s not that a substep is needed there; it’s that the original writing came after a line-break (the writing was started on a new line). Any time you go to a new line within the Steps section, it needs to start with a # or #*, or numbering will be broken. In the Tips/Warnings, all new lines need to start with a *. I know it can be tricky to see the line-breaks sometimes, but as long as you keep that format going, it’ll all work in order! Thanks for posting here, and thanks @Danielbauwens for finding the fix!

@Anna , it’s confusing to me.

@Laura7491 Example: ==Steps=== Line1 #Step 1 is just normal Line2 #Step 2 is also normal, but if we continue with a longer sentence, it get more complicated.
Line3 Watch how when I now press “Enter”. Line4 I continue on this level. That means I broke free out of the steps, and so this <— isn’t part of Line5 a step anymore. So when I start
Line6 #Here again with a hashtag(#) for a step, the steps get reset back to 1. How to fix this, is just continuing the next sentence from Line4 on Line 3 (Using Backspace). I hope I didn’t confuse you even more. Daniel

@Danielbauwens , to tell you the truth, this edit **should NOT be a brainor**, but it seems like it is. Sorry, I don’t have the time to go back to that article and watch. Editing should be much easier than what you are explaining in your message. Too bad it’s too tricky. Yes, I am critical, and I honestly don’t deny it, but perhaps it does make the new not-too-computer-savvy authors to abandon formatting their articles and therefore in the end we must spend a fortune of time formatting them. Think about it. Thanks God it doesn’t happen often during my editing. I have fixed A LOT OF “goofies” in a past, when edited, believe me.
