Since it seems to be that people like an article broken up into definitive sections, and the Google search engine, wants to make them steps, then why don’t we work with that and make the sections actionable steps.

Isnt that the case for the policy of trying to make steps start with ACTION verbs already? I dont quite understand what your saying.

I am talking about the sub sections be steps. What’s in between === Sub Section ===

#*Sub step

What Teresa is trying to suggest is changing any sub section phrases into “action-like” steps. So if you have a sub-section like, “Clothes” (for an imaginary teen wardrobe article), you can change it to “Try Out New Clothes” to form it into an action-like step.

Yeah. Happens pretty often in those “Be Like” articles. I support this decision, but havent had the chance to edit these for this issue.

Would this apply to articles with multiple methods of doing something, as in http://wikihow.com/Clean-a-Sponge ?

Yes, exactly.

This makes sense. I don’t think we have any guidelines for titling subsections, but it’d make sense to have a guideline for consistency. Your suggestion is as good as any, and it’d make for punchier subsection titles.

You, and your article, is what made me think of it.
