Summary of what the video was about
They aren’t really doing anything productive nor helpful. When they become adults, they may not have any social skills and they won’t know how to deal with tough situations in life. I’m getting concerned to see what the future of Gen Alpha will be like (my generation, Gen Z is already kinda internet-obssessed).
Like, their lives may even become a dystopia(like Fahrenheit 451), with their lives literally revolving around screens. Want to watch a movie? You can stream it on your device. Need to buy something? This app can deliver it to your door in a couple minutes- you don’t even need to get out of your house. Want to talk to your friends? Contact them on this instant messaging app. I’m concerned that in the near future, Gen Alpha (and possibly future generations) will be full of tech-obsessed recluses who haven’t done much in the “outside world”. Maybe they’ve only seen animals/nature on TV or seen other things online; they haven’t actually experienced anything physically. That thought scares me.
It also talked about how a lot of young people just want to become famous. After the rise of TikTok (probably due to the COVID pandemic and everyone not being able to go outside and do interesting things), more random people started becoming Tik-Tok famous just by doing some dances and sharing random stuff about their lives. Like, random people on the street could be TikTok, Instagram, or Twitter-famous by talking about a funny meme or sharing their daily routine. You don’t need a ton of talent to be famous these days

I mean, there are definitely still a ton of talented people that are famous, but most of those people became famous before the rise of TikTok and other social media apps for regular, common people. There are a ton of famous people from the 20th century to the 2010s who were actually talented and tried not to get into any celebrity drama.
For example, famous singers and actors from the 20th century (Madonna, Tom Cruise, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, etc.) definitely had outstanding talents that led them into the acting and singing industries. Even actors and singers from the 1990s-2000s had innate talents I guess (Julia Roberts, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicolas Cage, Tom Hanks, Michelle Pfeiffer, 50 Cent, Beyoncé, Eminem, Rihanna, etc.).
There are some people from more recent years that are actually talented. They also try not to stir up any celebrity drama or gossip; they are more busy about building their career, not getting into petty feuds with other celebrities. People like Emma Watson, Zendaya, Hugh Jackman, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Drake, Dua Lipa, and Harry Styles are examples of that; talented and humble even though they are famous. They aren’t constantly flaunting their wealth or doing whatever it takes to get featured on the front headlines of newspapers or social media.
