Okay so there is this new person on wikiHow and when he comments on a post I have bookmarked or he mentions me I can’t see it in my notifications… why??

Did you put in an email address when you registered for wikiHow? If not, you won’t get email notifications…

Have you tried going here
and going into your notification preferences? There might be a setting or two that’s the culprit. Enable or disable the said settings, depending on which action you’re doing, and see if that solves your problem.

Are you talking about the popup notifications, then? Again, you won’t get the email notifications about forum posts unless you’ve entered an email address.
Okay, I know I won’t get email notifications because I don’t want them but I still should get them in the popup notifications… right?? @ Isorhythmic

then you should get the popups. You probably have to have the forum page open in order to get the notifications. I have noticed it doesn’t work 100% of the time, for example, I didn’t get an email or a popup when you mentioned me in your last post, even though I have that setting enabled.

On which threads? Did they tag you specifically, or are they threads that you started? If you give links to the threads, it will make it easier to look into.

and yes they have tagged me specifically and it hasn’t shown up

Because if so, that user has quoted you, not tagged you, and you won’t get notifications for that (as far as I know.)

Yes, I am thinking it has something to do with new people because I don’t get notifications for anyone that has just joined and mentioned me.
Also, it might be pertinent to consider whether the tag was in the initial posting of the comment or added through a later edit.
I mean it doesn’t say it was edited so ??
So that factor is not relevant in this instance.
