A few days ago, I worked on the Categorizer. The dashboard app told me it had about 70 in the app. When it told me that it had no more to do, I second guessed it. I went into the Uncategorized articles page. However, the number it said was totally unlike any others. Not only did it not show me several of the articles that were in there, but it was showing only 13. I was able to categorize a few more, so it was only down to 2. It went down, only that much(as to read about 50(something)(70(rough)-13). Now, I’m looking at the two pages yet again. The Dashboard says the Categorizer has 99, but if you checked the Uncategorized page, it says it only has 56/55. This isn’t the first time this has happened. It’s been very buggy with this number, ever since I got that number down in February 2012, when the new Categorizer came into place. It’s fairly minor, but I feel it should represent a correct number. Also, after talking with other Admins, they say other apps also don’t represent the correct amount (NAB), but was told this portion had been reported (Thanks @ttrimm - refiled).

Also, there are some article that were never presented to me, that made the “Uncategorized articles” list. I know this, as I wrote down all the articles names for those I was presented with until it told me I couldn’t categorize any more. And even several seconds later when it got refilled, did it still not give me these articles.

There’s always a small discrepancy between the widget and the actual number of uncategorized articles because the categorizer tool has own queue that updates regularly but not instantaneously. It will lag a bit from what the real number is.
