I could have sworn that there was an article about how to act like you’re an admin. The page was written for people who wanted to be an admin, but weren’t. It provided things that most users could do that were admin-like, but didn’t require administrative priviliges (e.g. vote on NFD, etc.) Did this page disappear or am I just going crazy?

No, not exactly. This is when you HAVE admin powers. There used to be page written for regular users who wanted to do admin like stuff. Obviously, they couldn’t delete pages or anything like that, but they could vote on NFD, patrol pages, etc.

Maybe I am going crazy. I remember the title used to be “Act as if you were an wikihow admin” or something along those lines. I remember it being linked from Act as a wikiHow Admin but it’s no longer there.

As far as I’m aware, http://www.wikihow.com/Act-as-a-wikiHow-Admin used to have a section on “Actions that any registered user can perform” but was rewritten to include only admin tasks back in October. That it?:slight_smile:

I think there was one… I am too lazy to go searching.:slight_smile:The new admin package is fairly helpful and then there are all the existing admins whose brains you can pick either on our talk pages or via email. There is no such thing as a daft question, so ask away.:slight_smile:

Krystle, any comment? It was originally written for non-admins but you removed that section. “Actions requiring administrator powers” was maybe the unnecessary part?

Yes, that’s right - I moved that info to http://www.wikihow.com/Become-a-wikiHow-Admin since that’s the page for non-admins. The two pages had started to become very similar, so to clean up I tried to make one page for non-admins and another for admins. Feel free to restore the info I took out, however, if you think it’s helpful there!:slight_smile:
