I noticed that the “personality profile” section on profile pages includes 8 quizzes, including one about Hogwarts house. Given that J. K. Rowling is one of the loudest anti-trans activists in the world right now and her work is widely boycotted, this implies a certain stance on trans rights and whether trans people are welcome at wikiHow.
My guess is that this is an oversight rather than an intentional political statement. Putting a different quiz there would avoid implicitly endorsing Rowling. Here are a few I found:
These are popular, somewhat personality-related, and unrelated to any franchise. And if I were to have answers to any of these on my profile, I wouldn’t have to worry about whether trans people see me as a safe person because of it.
Trans rights are under increasing attack and trans people don’t deserve any ambiguity about whether they’re welcome here!
