I know there are a lot of posts like this but I could really use some help right about now. I have been getting okay grades and my depression has really made my unmotivated at school and I don’t know how to get motivated. I constantly cut my wrists and it hurts but it soothes me. Today my mom grabbed her belongings and drove away. My dad was really sad and angry and we went out to the car and drove somewhere. I don’t know where my Mom or Dad went and I am really, really scared. Can someone please help me… suicide seems like the best answer at the moment.

P.S. my girlfriend broke up with me like a week ago and we had been together for over a year… that made my depression a lot worse.

It wasn’t “we went out the the car and drove somewhere” it should be “he went out to the car and drove somewhere.”

Ring up a suicide hotline or talk to the counselor if you go to school. Either one may help.

Okay slow down. The problems that your parents are going through are not your fault. Personally I don’t think killing your self is a good way out. So you need to continue on in life and NOT WORRY! It is probably hard so ask for some medical help. Don’t rush a decision that you may get regret. Please read this and understand. I read what you said and the only problems that are yours NOTHING! I don’t know if you mean to cut yourself it that is not the point. Your girlfriend broke up with YOU and your parents have their problems. Thank you for asking for help. I would feel terrible if this happens. Take care of yourself.

Try talking to a suicide hotline

Piper Step just to say something… I have tried to bring this up to my parents but they just don’t care. They always say things like “that’s no son of mine” and then laugh. I talked to my counselor at my school and she is just a big jerk who rushed me out of her office because it was her lunch break. I called a suicide hotline but they didn’t help… I feel like no one cares about me and school is making everything worse. I just don’t know how to fix anything.

Since your parents seemingly (and sadly) don’t care about your case, you do not have to stick by them and get their permission to seek help. Talk to any adult or friend that could help. If you can, maybe see the principal or another counselor. Your counselor shouldn’t have neglected that…

It Is obvious you can not talk to your parents. They are part of the problem. What we have suggested may not have worked. Try talking to an adult friend or a family member like a cousin aunt uncle.

Or talk to someone who may have gone through the same thing. I know that talking to Someone that has gone through the same thing will help. Believe me I went once through a similar situation.

Also did both your parent come back to your house?

My mom did but my dad didn’t. My mom said he went on a “work trip”

a work trip?

Don’t worry, I feel like this all the time, too. I have your back. Just remember that we’re here for you. I’m constantly online- unless I’m asleep, but, please, don’t consider suicide. Everyone loves you. I’m sorry if you don’t like compliments…but…please, please don’t feel this way.

Yeah, please don’t commit suicide. You are important to this world, whether you think you are or not.
