With new features on the way, we are excited to announce a new section in the wikiHow Herald. This section will feature YOUR writing. It’s sorta like letters to the Editor. The best of the best submissions will be featured in the Herald. The periodical is on a bit of a hiatus, so you have lots of time to send stuff in! Send in one, two, three, four or 52 articles, I don’t care. And the cool thing is that I won’t tell you what to write about, so anything that you think is a problem (or hopefully something good) can be written about. Please, don’t get offended if I don’t choose your article though, you just need to keep sending stuff in! You must be asking “where should I send my writing in?” Please send it to wikihowherald@yahoo.com , and tell me here what you sent in. ALSO, If you would like to recieve the Herald on your talkpage, let me know on this thread.

Seems like a good time to sign up for it!

I’d like the wikiHow Herald please!:slight_smile:Personally, I have no idea what to write about, so until then don’t be expecting anything from me…

It would be nice if you could suggest some topics. That may give people some inspiration.

IDEAS: - Personal experiences on wikiHow: How has the site opened up knowledge for you? Have you done something in real life because of an article? - Your opinion on wikiHow’s Editcountitis ( http://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Editcountitis ) - Any fantasy things that you’d like to see on the site, but will probably never happen? - Do you use social networking sites to spread “wikiLove” around (as in sharing articles, etc)? Explain why you do or don’t - if you don’t have a certain account(s) for a reason, I don’t think this idea is worthdoing. If you have an account, why don’t you share information? - Everyone interested in the Herald (that I have observed) has written an article. Write about what influences you to write them. How do you get your ideas?

Maluniu has good ideas!

If you need help with an article, ask people! If you have an article on doing things that you aren’t a expert on, ask someone who is an expert. I’ve done it lots of times before, and it’s not that hard- especially if you have previously known the person. Also, try asking in wikiHow’s IRC chat room ( http://irc.wikihow.com/ ), in the forums ( http://forums.wikihow.com/ ), and ask for help on your userpage. This helps immenslywith articles, writing, and just knowledge. I get my ideas by just living every day life. A few are requested (I usually search for certain topics), but most I just happen to think of when doing something. I like writing articles, so if there’s something that I happen to think of that wikiHow doesn’t have, I (most of the time will) write it.

You’re missing the point here Isabelle. I’d like people to write in to the wikiHow Herald about things with wikiHow… not how-to articles:slight_smile:Also, I have been in IRC for two years now, nothing new to me.

I’d like the Herald!

I’d love the herald.

Sweet ideas! I like the idea that it’s all of us, the community, that’s writing. I’d like the Herald as well:smiley:

@Rangers31 : Actually, the second paragraph is Maluniu’s last idea. The first paragraph it just a tip for new editors.:stuck_out_tongue:

I’d like the Herald:)

It sounds like we have a lot of people who want the herald! Talk about it with your friends here… get the word out! The more the merrier!

in! ^^ You DID say “Please write in!”…:stuck_out_tongue:

Just as a note, I am redoing the mailing list so you need to sign up a second time if you were signed up in the past.

I would also like the Herald.

Keep writing in!

Me too, please! =]

I’d like the Herald as well. =)
