Doing NAB, I have noticed a LOT of similarly looking spam articles submitted by various ‘editors’. They are all a first and last name. Is it possible they are the same?

Get a list of the usernames to me and I’ll be happy to check?

I will start collecting them.

I got them all…is there a way to determine who created the articles I deleted?? http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=delete&user=ttrimm&page=

Figured it out. http://www.wikihow.com/User:Karuakaz http://www.wikihow.com/User:Belleoates http://www.wikihow.com/User:Georgewildz http://www.wikihow.com/User:Kevinfrosz http://www.wikihow.com/User:Veronicazora http://www.wikihow.com/User:Kimberlyaffleck http://www.wikihow.com/User:Georgineethridge http://www.wikihow.com/User:Nalcolmlewis http://www.wikihow.com/User:Naomiking http://www.wikihow.com/User:Bobsmith2012

@ttrimm You can find out who created it by going to Special:Undelete. Then go into the article, and view the history of it.

Yeah. figured that out. didn’t even have to undelete it.

Yeah, but you go through the undelete interface. Well. At least that is how I do it.

@Teresa Not all from the same IP? But if you’ve blocked their account AND any IP they edited from recently, you should be able to put a stop to it fairly quickly. I’ve blocked two which had spawned more than 3 in a day… but the rest look to be one offs from different IP’s.

What are we going to do about non-registered spammers?

Take them out back and stomp on them? I’m heavier than you… you throw them down, I’ll sit on them. LOL! Just kidding! But sometimes I DO wish…

LOVE your sense of humor @Loiswade42 !!

LOL! =) June Days
