One thing that we are trying to get rid of is content farm stuff. What do others think of NFD|CFA (content farm article), with maybe a place for the link of one of the other articles??
If it’s a content farm article, it’s generally a copyvio and these get dealt with relatively fast. Between NFD|NOT and NFD|ADV, what do they not cover? (Just for clarification)

there are those that have permission to use those articles and then we become one of the many sites with the same S(&(*&T on it!

Yes, it’s a dup, but not all of them are. Let’s just say it will fill the cracks.
You would need to define content farm very carefully. Others consider us to be a content farm. (And I am against this, we cover what I think you are trying to define already.)
True, we could insist on original content only. But we’d lose a lot of content including this sort of thing: http://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Importable-Content

I’ve thought of this idea too but ran into the same concerns as Dave. It is really, really hard to find common ground on what is a content farm article and what is not. That being said, people who re-publish here with the sole intent to advertise and without any intent to learn our policies are not using wikiHow as it was intended to be used, so if anyone comes across this type of behavior, feel free to forward their username to me and I would be happy to look into it and deal with it appropriately.
