During the Christmas Eves and Days of WW1, some British and German soldiers had a ceasefire to have a peaceful Christmas together. However, the peace did not last long, as many British generals/captains ordered artillery strikes or else legal consequences would apply to the officers.
Did you know that molasis was also used in explosives in world war one. It is what caused the Boston Molasis flood.

Hardtack was a simple type of biscuit/cracker made from flour and water (maybe salt). It has an extremely long shelf life, is inexpensive, and used in the American Civil War.
