So, during RC Patrol, I came across this edit in the warning area of the article. It was completely removed and edited. Vandalized basically. I wanted to click Rollback, but there was no Rollback button. It had just disappeared. Is this intentional? Is there a reason I couldn’t use the Rollback button?
Thanks in advance!

This happens if somebody else already rolled the edit back.

So if me and someone else get the same edit at the same time, and they rollback before I do, it won’t show?

Correct. It also won’t be there if the user who made the edit is the only contributor to a page (for example, if they started the article and then made another edit) If you are in doubt, you can always check the history page to see if the edit has indeed been rolled back.

This also seems to happen to me if the edit is the last one you’re seeing in the queue (i.e. it’s the last edit in the queue or you’ve skipped all edits that come after it in the queue). After verifying the article history to make sure no one’s undone it yet, try clicking “Undo” to manually revert it or go to Special:RecentChanges and revert it that way.

It happens sometimes to me, too, which is why my primary way of patrolling is through recent changes.

I remember I emailed Anna about this a while ago. She mentioned that it was a bug, not sure if the source was ever located or how persistent it is. I don’t remember seeing it too often after that point.
In the meantime, you can generally go to the history and patrol it manually or skip.
