I’m currently working on my first article, and I’d like to make it the best it can be. I played around with the sandbox for a while, and I think I understand everything I need to know.

I’ve decided to work on the article in advanced mode, so that I can work on it more easily. However, whenever I try to save and re-access a draft that I was working on in advanced mode, it opens the draft in guided mode and deletes everything when I try to work on it in advanced.

Is there any way to save drafts and access them later in advanced mode for a new article, or will I have to add everything at once to work on it that way?

Hmm, maybe it’d help to switch your default editor to advanced? You can do that here:  http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing - select advanced under “Default editor”. See if that does the trick!

Yep, @Anna is right - it sounds like your default editor is at guided mode, so anytime you come back to it, whether it’s saved as a draft or published & then going back into it, will display the guided version. I’ve set mines at ‘advanced editor’ for a long time and had no issues.

Whoops, forgot to reply to this. Yep, that worked for me, and I was able to create my article with no problems.
