I just came across something called the spam whitelist (couldn’t help thinking that the spam blacklist was it’s evil cousin hehe). Can someone please clarify what that is? I know it doesn’t really affect me since I’m not an admin but I’m curious. I thought spam was bad, why would you whitelist it?

This page allows URLs to be added to pages without issue. One of the common uses for this is for adding sites that are blocked by a large blacklist entry (hard to make up a word). Because that may be a bit confusing, let me explain a frequent use. Blogger is blacklisted, as it is frequently used as a free tool to spam. Sometime there are Blogger sites we want in the sources section of an article. By adding that specific Blogger site to the Spam Whitelist, it can be added to the page without being prevented by the Spam Blacklist. Hope that makes sense.

Ohhh I get it now!:smiley:Thanks for the help:slight_smile:

No prob:slight_smile:
