I have tried refreshing the page, reloading from home page and updating my Java but the community page still loads fine, there is just no start link next to spellchecker or any other bit. Please help!
I tried to do print screen but cannot for some reason.
What is your OS and browser?
I’ve just downloaded IE 8 and we have windows XP. But I’ve been loading the spellchecker thing just fine using IE 7 for the past two weeks with no problem before now.
Interesting - I heard online that it could be attributed to AVG but have uninstalled this and still not working. However - have found that if I go to my contributions over the last week I can press start for spell check from there. Though it still does not have the start link anywhere next to any of the boxes on the community dashboard.
Okay, all sorts of issues now. Start link still not highlighted but just tried to send another comment but it disappeared! What is going on here? Sounds like it could be my computer since I see other contributors have added to various patrolling and spell check over the last few days.
Scrap that I cannot spellcheck from my contributions. It loaded but I can’t access any of the articles TO spell check. Is this something from my user name that’s the problem?
I have also tried rebooting internet options back to its original state. Odd thing is, when the website first started to load, start came up (bottom of page saying 27 items to download etc) then the dashboard loaded and all the start links have disappeared again.
I think I might be the only one contributing to this but as an extra fun (not) thing, some of the links on my dashboard page (not including Start which isn’t there still) but it’s as if something has been taken off of my profile so that I can’t do anything except write an article. Is it possible for an admin to not let someone contribute other than writing an article? I’m wondering if I should delete myself and start over?
Ask and ye shall answer! I saw something at the top of the page next to the refresh button but looks like a ripped page? Compatibility or something? I clicked it and all the start links came back on!! Fingers crossed that this lasts! Maybe it’s because I changed to Internet Explorer 8 and Wikihow doesn’t like it?
