Occasionally a new contributor creates an account for the purpose of posting links on discussionpages. This has long been considered ‘‘subtle spam’’ and has been removed, either by rolling back the post or simply removing the links. It only takes a moment to run the edits through the patrol log to see who is patrolling these edits, but the point is, although they are not very visible on discussionpages that are usually not often viewed, they should be dealt with.
Great reminder! The same applies to talk pages; most edits are fine and can be breezed right through, but make sure to pay attention because there are some bad ones.
