Get ready to play a new version of the Giving Game, the Giving/Taking Game! The goal is to be the last person with points. At the start of the game, everyone who signed up has 20 points. Each day, you may (but you can do none at all) subtract a maximum of 1 point from a single person. You do not gain points when you subtract them.However, if you would like to subtract more than 1 point a day, then you must subtract 2 points from your balance for every extra point you subtract. You can also give points to other people’s balance. But, if you do give points to someone’s balance, you must take them out of your balance. Every time you post, include your current balance at the bottom of the post. When a person runs out of points, they are out. This will be a bit more interactive than the original Giving Game, because more strategy is required, and you can’t get out by not posting. Unlike the original Giving Game, you do not have to post at least once a day. You could go on a 2 week wikiBreak and still be in the game. You’ll just be an easy target for others, though. The prize for the winner is 2000 wikiCash. Go ahead and start signing up if you’d like to play! Please ask any questions you have.

- When you subtract a point from a user, where does the point go? EDIT EDIT: In return for me joining, perhaps a specific user may check the email said user manages?

I’m trying to do an in head simulation on that right now. I’ll get back to you on that in a few minutes… EDIT: Yes, the points do go into oblivion. That will be much simpler, since then the only way to gain points will be to receive them from another player, hence the name The Giving Game.

The first one was to see how people reacted when they were given limited resources to share amongst a group, while at the same time wanting to be the only person left. This one will still include a slightly modified giving aspect, but an ability to destroy other’s resources has been added as well. I’ll explain at the end exactly what I’m going to be observing. The game will begin soon, but you can still join if you’d like.
