I don’t have any problem with anyone taking on the role, but I have a few pieces of advice I’d like people to consider:
- It takes serious commitment, even for a monthly newspaper. You may find yourself caught between finding people to write articles and their schedules, topics. You’ll need to be really active on the site to perceive what’s happening in the forums, and what’s changing on the site.
- Consider chunking the newspaper into smaller bitsthat don’t take as much time to develop, and expand the available content varieties. e.g Not everything has to be a full article. Sometimes a basic summary with a link can be helpful. Lists, polls, and other things can be considered content too. Take comics and artwork based on submission, instead of running around trying to find someone on a monthly basis.
- Check both templates (distribution and main)to make sure they are updated and correct before distribution.

I think it’s a great idea, and am glad someone is finally taking the initiative to revive it. I, for one have really wanted to have the herald delivered, and would have revived it myself, but I’m not too active these days. I can help out if needed. I consider myself a fairly decent writer.
I am aweful at being active, then going inactive for a month or more, but little to do right now, so may be pretty active… Anyway, if you want, I no longer have use of computer, but might be able to write an article and email it to you or something… However, yes, I would love to see this up again!
