Hello! When I’m in the Quality Guardian area I have to deal with a lot of questions. Many people add in questions to the tips section. I was wondering if there was any way that we can work on a way to completely filter out questions from the tips as they often look like a query one might write into the search tool. Anyone have comments or knowledge on how this could be a possibility?

Weird. How many “tips” (questions) have you gotten in the Quality Guardian so far?

Shouldn’t tips be filtered out in Tips Patrol?

The Quality Guardian reviews any edits, and it’s similar to RC Patrol in a way. So far though, I have only gotten videos to review.

I see tips and videos too. If you see a question tip, you can click the No button on Quality Guardian.

A few weeks ago @Hibou8 , the order of the tips patrolling has been reversed. Due to Tips Patrol having a quick edit feature, it first enters QG then when it passes that test, enters Tips Patrol where it can be quick edited. If it still passes there, like all other edits, has to go through RCP.

@McDonalds1 I’m having the same problem, though to get to the tips, one must single-check the Tips box only (if both boxes are checked, you’ll only get videos).

I understand. Makes sense. Thanks @Byankno1 .

It’s like we’re playing a game and I’m the first line of defense against poor advice:wink:

There are quite a few tips that look like someone just queried the search bar. Maybe people are just being immature:frowning:

@Byanko1 Thank you. Unticking the “Videos” box solved this problem.

A basic rule of thumb for patrolling tips is to ask “Would this tip be helpful for someone reading this article/doing the task in the article?” If someone is just putting search queries in, then I’d vote against it. But if something offers legitimate, potentially useful advice, I typically approve it. After Quality Guardian the tip would enter the Tips Patrol logs, where issues or errors in the tip can be patched up and made the best they can be.
