The last used was a month ago, and every single time I click on it, it just shows that there are no tips to patrol. I’ve never patrolled a tip ever in wikiHow, and I’d like to know why. Certainly there has to be at least 1 tip added since I joined?!
Actually, in Quality Guardian, there used to be tips that we would approve there, which would then be sent to Tips Patrol. However, Quality Guardian doesn’t seem to have tips to approve anymore, just videos, which is the real root to the problem. I wonder why…
Maybe the tips submission link on the mobile site isn’t working. It’s probably something with the redesign. I wonder if it’s being discontinued?
When I go on mobile site the “Add New Tip” option isn’t there.

I wouldn’t be surprised either way. The Tips submissions used to be the only way that mobile users could contribute, but now that the mobile and desktop site will be the same, I don’t know if it’s worthwhile to have tips submissions.
On the other hand, the feature was not removed when mobile users gained the ability to edit, and it’s a good way for readers to quickly contribute, so it could really go either way. I think that when @JayneG
comes back, she will be able to answer the question.

Hey everyone, good detective work here. The “Add a Tip” submission has been taken off from mobile as part of the responsive update. I believe there are a couple of factors at play here, but the Tips Adder was originally built when we didn’t have editing available on mobile. Because the goal is to have editing available on mobile, this will make the feature redundant. Think of it as part of a long-term plan!
So, currently there aren’t plans to restore it, but I’ll be sure to let you know if that changes. Tips Patrol will also likely be removed from the dashboard tools in due course. Maybe that will leave us room to create a fun new tool…?!

Just coming back to update this - I’ve heard that tips submission, and therefore tips patrol, will be coming back at some stage. It will most likely after all of the responsive updates have happened :)

Update: Tips submissions are coming back in an experimental capacity today! It may stay, it may not. That’s the fun of an experiment!
A few notes:

Tip submissions are not available on every article, so don’t be concerned if you don’t see it on some pages.

There will be a “Tips Guardian” tool that is just available on the mobile menu. It’s like Quality Guardian, but just for tips. Anyone can use this tool.

Tips Patrol will only be available to admin and boosters at this stage.

I just voted on some tips in the quality guardian :). I’m probably making errors though, as this is my first time…
