Hi Guys,

This Evening I was patrolling videos and there is a rule that you need to watch at least 30seconds of the video before you can approve of it. Now I think this s a great rule but only was I to realise that and people who want to be silly and dont care can skip the video and just click yes. Id this not a possible issue? Could it be fixed? Has anyone else brought this up?

Sorry, I’m not sure I understand what you mean, Zach - the purpose of the Skip button is to skip the video and leave it for someone else to approve or reject. Are you referring to people waiting 30 seconds and hitting Yes without actually watching the video? That’s actually not common (people have short attention spans, haha), but if that does happen, we do have our fantastic patrollers making sure that obviously wrong videos can be removed, and videos do get a second run through our Quality Guardian tool to make sure that they match the article. If all else fails, we do have a message we can send them to make sure they’re aware of our guidelines, and if worse comes to worst and they keep adding incorrect videos even after repeated coaching attempts, an admin can usually handle it:slight_smile:

TL;DR version: It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s easy to handle and videos are reviewed multiple times. Does that answer your question?

I don’t know what you’re talking about but maybe I do. So the rule is to watch it for 30 seconds but if you wait for a few seconds without pressing play it goes into the 30 seconds so instead of watching the video for 30 seconds it’ll be a little shorter. Is that what you’re talking about or is Alex right?:slight_smile:

Ok. Im sorry if you didnt understand. Basically to approve a video you need to watch it for 30seconds. Now, what I was saying is that people could potentially be skipping it and not watching it which means it coud falsely be approved. When you skip a video in the Video Adder, you are in turn handing it to someone else to approve or disapprove. You won’t be the one to be penalized for that press. Pressing the Skip button is like saying “I don’t know - give it to someone who does”!
