Hi again everyone, I hope you’re all doin well:)

I joined wikiHow maybe a week or two after the last edition of the wikiHow herald was released, and I think it’s an amazing project and massive congratulations to @Eric for keeping it alive for many years:clap::clap:

I definitely don’t want to hijack Eric’s project, but if he’s ok with it, would any experienced editors be open to re-starting the wikiHow Herald with me? Or at least give me a brief outline of what running the herald entails, so I can decide whether that’s something I have the time for.

I know I’m not overly experienced at wikiHow, but I feel I’ve learned enough to be able to put together a few pieces for our amazing community:)

Not experienced enough to help, but I just want to say I’ve seen the wikiHow Herald on others’ talkpages and it looks pretty interesting, I’d definitely be on board with restarting it:grin:

I don’t think you’d necessarily have to stick with the same cadence of new editions if you decide to revive The wikiHow Herald, although I’m happy to send you the details of the frequency of new editions we have historically stuck with if that’s what you want to do.

A few things to keep in mind:

— This tended to require a fairly significant time commitment (probably about 6+ hours a month)
— We’ve had multiple people involved, including people to help proofread content before it was published, help develop content ideas, and occasionally help write content
— We’d usually involve staff (generally the Community Manager) to help get another set of eyes on content and periodically help provide content ideas

Since we’re all volunteers here, it can sometimes prove challenging to find folks who can devote the time needed to make the project successful. This is natural and completely understandable since we all know life happens.

I’m happy to help provide more feedback and answer any questions if you decide to revive TWH, though!:slight_smile:

I don’t mind helping out! At my school I’m in the newspaper club, and it’s pretty fun! So I guess I have a bit of experience.
