How to Change Your WeChat ID

This wikiHow teaches you how to change your WeChat ID after completing the initial signup process. You may only change your WeChat ID once after your account has been created.

Open the WeChat app. It's the two white speech bubbles on a green background.
- If you aren't already logged in: tap Log In , enter your phone number and password, and tap Log In .

Tap Me . It's in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- If WeChat opens to a conversation, tap the back button in the top left corner of the screen first.

Tap WeChat ID . It's at the top of the screen.
- If tapping this option doesn't open a text field, you can't change your WeChat ID.
You can only do so once after downloading the WeChat app.
It's in the top right corner of the screen.
Doing so will save your WeChat ID. You won't be able to change your WeChat ID again on this account. ^{[1]
