On Desktop

  1. Open a document at http://docs.google.com .
    • Click Edit in the menu bar at the top of the browser window and Select all to highlight the entire document.

    • Alternatively, click the Line Spacing button in the toolbar at the top of the document. It's an icon of horizontal lines next to up and down arrows.
  2. The highlighted text is now double-spaced.
    • While different paragraphs may have different spacing, all the lines in a single paragraph must maintain the same line spacing.

On Mobile

  1. It's a white app with a blue paper icon that contains white lines.
  2. It's a blue circle with a white pencil icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
  3. Use your finger or the arrow buttons on a hardware keyboard to do so.
    • Long-tap the text and tap Select all to select all the text in the document.
  4. It's an A with horizontal lines in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  5. Taporon either side of the number to increase or decrease it to 2.00.
  6. The highlighted text is now double-spaced.
    • While different paragraphs may have different spacing, all the lines in a single paragraph must maintain the same line spacing.

Making Double Spaced the Default for New Documents

  1. Open a document at http://docs.google.com . Do so in a desktop browser.
  2. It's at the top of the document.
  3. New documents will now be double-spaced automatically.
