Making calls using Viber to another Viber account is free, as long as you have a Wi-Fi connection. If you need to call another person who does not use Viber, you have to pay the appropriate call charges. Viber has a feature called Viber Out, which you can use to make calls with Viber to any outside number in most countries. You will need credits on Viber though, which are bought with real money, to make these calls.

Launch the Viber app. Look for the Viber app on your smartphone. It’s the app icon the purple background and with a phone inside a chat box. Tap on it to launch it.

Access the menu. From the bottom menu, tap the icon with the three dots to reach Viber’s extended menu.Advertisement

Go to Viber Out. From the More menu, select the “Viber Out” item.

Check your credit balance. The Viber Out screen displays your current Credit Balance. This is the amount of money you have for use with Viber Out. Calling using Viber Out costs real money, and you need to have some prepaid credits to use it.

Go to the Buy Credit page. If you don’t have any credit or would like to load some, tap the “Buy Credit” button beside your Credit Balance.

Select the amount of credit to buy. A menu of prepaid credit values will be displayed. You have three options to choose from: $0.99, $4.99, and $9.99. Tap the one you’d like to buy.

Pay for the credits. Follow the on-screen steps to complete your purchase. If you’re using an iOS device, the iTunes Store will process your payment. If you’re using an Android device, the Google Checkout will do that. Once the purchase is completed, the credit amount you’ve just bought will be added to your Credit Balance.Advertisement

Log in. Click the Login link on the top left corner of the page. Enter your Viber phone number and password in the fields provided, and then click the “Log in” button below it.

Check your credit balance. Upon logging, you will be brought to your dashboard. You can see your available balance or credit on the top right corner. This is the amount of money you have for use with Viber Out.

Access the Buy Credit page. If you don’t have any credit or would like to load some, click the “Buy Credit” button beside your credit balance to begin buying credits.

Select the amount of credit to buy. A Checkout page will load containing a menu of prepaid credit values. You have three options to choose from: $4.99, $9.99, and $24.99. Click the option you’d like to buy.

Choose your payment method. Right below the menu, you have to click on your payment method. You can pay with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or PayPal. When you’ve selected your preferred method, click the “Buy” button to proceed.

Pay for the credits. Viber will process your payment. If you selected a credit card as a payment method, you will be asked to fill up your credit card information in another page. If you chose PayPal, you will be brought to PayPal’s payment page. Complete the transaction by following the instructions on your screen.
