This wikiHow teaches you how to send animated GIF pictures on Viber. You can easily search and send animated GIFs using the Viber mobile app for Android and iPhone, or you can send GIFs you've download from your computer using the Viber desktop app for Windows and Mac.

On Mobile

Open Viber app. It's the purple app with a white phone inside a speech bubble. If you don't have the Viber app on your phone you can download it and register with your mobile phone number:
- Android : Open the Google Play Store , tap the search bar, type in viber , tap Viber Messenger , tap INSTALL , and tap ACCEPT when prompted.
- iPhone : Open the App Store tap Search , tap the search bar, type in viber and tap Search , tap Viber Messenger - Text & Call , tap GET , and enter your password or Touch ID when prompted.

Tap the Chats tab. On Android, it's near the top-left of the screen, and on iPhone, it's in the bottom-left corner of the screen with the speech bubble icon. This opens all of your recent conversations and groups.Advertisement

Select a chat conversation. Tap the chat or conversation you want to send the GIF in, or you can create a new one:
- Android : Tap the blueplus sign "+" icon in the bottom-right corner and select a contact.
- iPhone : Tap thepencil & paper icon in the top-right corner of the screen and select a contact.

Tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom. It's the icon that looks like a magnifying glass with stars around it, to the right of the camera icon.

Tap GIPHY in the bottom row. It's the icon with a black square and a colorful border that says "GIPHY" underneath.
- You might have to swipe the bottom row to the left to see the "GIPHY" option.

Type a keyword in the search bar. Tap the search bar that says "Search for GIFS" and type a search term, then tap the purple magnifying glass button. This displays animated GIFs that match your search.
- For example, if you wanted to express happiness, you might type happy into the search bar to find a fun happy animation.

Tap a GIF to post it. Scroll down through the results and find the GIF you want to post. When you find one you want to send, simply tap it. This sends the GIF and posts it into the chat!
- You can also upload a GIF from your phone storage the same way you would any image.

On Desktop

Open the Viber desktop app. On your computer, double-click the Viber app to launch Viber. It's the purple app with a white phone inside of a speech bubble. If you don't have Viber on your computer, you can download and sync your account with your mobile phone:
- Windows : Click, then clickMicrosoft Store, type viber into the search bar, click Viber , then click Get .
- Mac : Go to https://www.viber.com/products/mac , click Download , then double-click Viber.dmg , then drag the Viber icon into the Applications folder. Depending on your settings you may need to allow the installation first.

Sync your account with your mobile phone. To sync your account with your mobile phone:
- Click Yes .
- Enter your mobile number .
- Click Continue .
- Open Viber on your phone.
- Scan the QR code on your computer screen.

Click the speech bubble icon. It's the icon that resembles a purple speech bubble with lines in it on the top-left corner of the app window. This opens your list of recent conversations.

Select a chat conversation. Click a conversation to open the chat in the center of the app window, or to create a new one:
- Click thepencil & paper icon, select a contact, and click Start .

Click the attachment icon. This opens a pop-up window to open your file. Click the attachment icon for your computer:
- Windows : Click the paperclip icon to the left of the smiley face, then select Send photo or video .
- Mac : Click the plus sign "+" icon next to the "@" symbol at the bottom.

Go the folder where your GIF file is located and select it. In the pop-up window, go to the folder your GIF is stored in and click on the GIF file to select it.

Click Open . It's in the bottom-right corner of the pop-up window. This sends your GIF and posts it into the chat!Advertisement
