While the US TikTok ban was supposed to go into effect on January 19th 2025, the app came back online less than 24 hours later. [1] The app's future in the US is still in jeopardy, however, so it's not a bad idea to have a backup plan. (Or maybe you're just getting sick of TikTok and want to try a new social platform.) Alternative Apps to Replace TikTok

Two of the most popular apps to replace TikTok are RedNote (also called Xiaohongshu) and Lemon8. TikTok refugees are also moving to YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to use their built-in short-form video feeds. There are also a few newer apps to try, including Loops and Neptune.
