Want to scroll through your X, formerly known as Twitter feed, without having to load every image? This wikiHow teaches you how to prevent previews of image or video content from appearing in your X feed when you're using an iPhone or iPad. And while you can't block all photo and video previews when using X on your computer, you can turn on the feature that prevents explicit or sensitive content from appearing in your feed.
Disabling Image Previews on Twitter/X
You can only fully turn off image previews on the X mobile app. To do this, tap your profile picture in the top-left corner, then go to Settings and privacy > Accessibility, display, and languages > Display and sound . Toggle off Media previews .

Using the Twitter/X Mobile App

Open X and tap your profile picture. It's at the top-left corner.
- If you aren't logged into your X account, enter your email address (or username) and password before proceeding.

Tap Settings and privacy . It's near the bottom of the menu, with an icon of a cogwheel.Advertisement

Tap Accessibility, display, and languages > Display and sound . Display and sound is the second option on the list, and it has an icon of a paintbrush.

Tap the "Media previews" switch or checkbox to disable previews. If you're using an iPhone or iPad, tap the green switch to turn off previews. If you're on an Android, tap the checkbox to remove the checkmark. X will no longer display photo or video previews on your timeline.

Understand what you can block. While the X website doesn't allow you to block all image previews, you can prevent potentially sensitive or offensive content from appearing in your feed.

Go to x.com in your computer's web browser. This opens your X feed if you're logged in. If you aren't logged in, enter your email address (or username) and password before proceeding.

Click the More tab. It's on the left side of the page.

Click Settings and privacy > Privacy and safety . It's under the "Settings" header in the center panel.

Click Content you see . It's in the right panel under "Your Twitter activity."

Uncheck the "Display media that may contain sensitive content" box. It's at the top of the right panel. This prevents X from displaying potentially inappropriate content in your feed.
